Edward Shizha
Professor in Youth and Children’s Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Fellow of TSHEPO Institute for the Study of Contemporary Africa. Received my PhD from University of Alberta where I worked as a research associate in the Social Support Research Program department conducting studies on immigrants and their social support needs before getting a teaching position at Wilfrid Laurier University. My research focuses on postcolonial education and indigenous knowledge systems in Africa as well as social support for immigrants in Canada. Have authored and edited 12 books including "Living Beyond Borders: Essays on Global Immigrants and Refugees" (Peter Lang, 2018) and published several book chapters and journal articles which have been cited widely. I am the book series editor for ‘Africa in the Global Space’ that is published by Peter Lang Publishers.
