Azerbaijan To Miss World Team Championship in Armenia

Azerbaijan chess Federation Vice-President Mahir Mammadov in his wide interview given to extratime az. said that he is sure that Armenian team will become one of the participants of the 2016 chess Olympiad which will take part in Baku.

The Kazakhstan Chess Federation confirmed it will hold the Women's World Team Championship from March 2nd to 13th, 2013. This was announced at the FIDE Presidential Board held in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia. As you remember earlier the venue of the championship wasn't mentioned anywhere, although it should take place almost in a month.

The men's and women's world team championships will run in parallel, but in different corners of the globe - in Armenia and China. The first rounds of both are tomorrow.

The opening ceremony of the women' event in China ended a few minutes ago; in Tsakhkadzor, where Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has gone, the formal opening will take place at 18.00 Moscow time.

Silvio Danailov  thinks that ECU and FIDE should consolidate and do everything they can in order Armenian team to be able to play at the Olympiad 2016 in Baku: 

The FIDE Presidential Board meeting held in Tsaghkadzor is attended not only by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov but by another president: the honored guest of the meeting is the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. The question of the participation of the Armenian team at the World Cup 2015 and Olympiad 2016 was discussed at the press conference held on the first meeting day. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov noted there are no obstacles for the Armenian team to participate in any of them.

Ashot Vardapetyan, Deputy Chief Arbiter at the European Club Cup in Eilat and the Vice-President of the Armenian Chess Federation, gave an interview to the website extratime.az addressing kind words to the Azerbaijani Chess Federation (ACF). The topic was raised in connection to the Olympiad-2016 which will take place in Baku. 

The Azerbaijani GM shakhriyar Mamedyarov told about his 2013:

The website extratime.az reports that the Azerbaijani team won't play at the World Cities Team Championship with its strongest composition. The tournament will take place in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Teimour Radjabov and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov won't be able to play for the team because of the intellectual games they will be participating in: the games will take place in Beijing and finish on December 20, while the championship is scheduled to start on December 21.
