Y'know how some celebs get themselves a clothing line and suddenly start acting like they have a Parsons degree and membership to the Chambre syndicale de la haute couture...and still never wear the pieces they supposedly "designed"? Wendy Williams is not one of those celebs.
Her collection for QVC, Adorn by Wendy Williams, hits the air tonight (tune in LIVE at 8pm!) and is full of colorful, easy-to-wear accessories that the talk show queen is partial to wearing on and off-air. And, refreshingly, she's not shy about discussing how the actual design process works: "I have a great design team and I give them all credit for pulling together my harebrained ideas and infusing their own ideas," she tells us. "I am very much a part of everything and I sign off on everything, but having a great team, that's the only way I could do it with my schedule."
She also keeps it real about putting herself out there in her own designs: "You don't know how long it's going to last, this thing called celebrity," she says. "I feel very proud to be a part of the fray, and my philosophy across the board is, if your name is on it, then you've got to wear it like you mean it! Because you know, who is better to model your own stuff than you?"
As for her own rules for style, there are some definite Dos--"My weight goes up and down, things fit, they don't fit, but the things that always stay true and never fail me are my accessories"--and Don'ts--"A turban is something you wear only when your wig is being prepped in the other room!"
I don't know about you gals, but I absolutely lose it laughing from Wendy (remember when we dished on both being from Jersey in her dressing from on the after-show?!) and I can't wait to see what kind of crazy talk she brings to QVC tonight! Check out the Adorn by Wendy Williams collection over at QVC.com, then discuss!
