INSIDE THE MASJID UR RAHIM MOSQUE WHILE THE SOUND OF PRAYER CAN BE HEARD, THE NEW ZEALAND MASSACRE IS FRESH ON THEIR MINDS. >> WE SHOULD ALL BECOME A LOT MORE CAUTIOUS OF THE TYPE OF ENVIRONMENT WE ARE LIVING IN NOW AND TYPE OF DARKNESS THAT EXISTS AMONG US AS HUMAN BEINGS. I THINK THE BEST WAY TO COMBAT WHAT’S BEING SEEN IN ALL OF THESE INCIDENTS IS FOR PEOPLE TO VERY LOUDLY AND VERY AGGRESSIVELY SAY IT’S NOT GOING TO BE TOLERATED. AUBRY: RAFEEQ SAYS THEY HAVE A GATE, CAMERAS AS WELL AS GUARDS IN AND OUTSIDE OF THE PROPERTY. HE HOPES THE TRAGEDY WON’T PREVENT PEOPLE FROM COMING TO HIS MOSQUE TO WORSHIP. >> WE HAVE TO NOT LET THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN US DEFINE THE WAY WE SEE EACH

Members of the New Orleans Islamic community on high alert
Following the massacre in New Zealand, members of the New Orleans Islamic community say they are on high alert. The leaders of Masjid-ur-Rahim mosque said while the tragedy in New Zealand is heartbreaking, it's not surprising.Still they say they are staying even more vigilant when it comes to security. "We should all become a lot more cautious of the type of environment we are living in now and the type of darkness that exists among us as human beings,” Rafeeq Numan said.Numan said they have a gate, cameras as well as guards in and outside of the property. Since active shooters have become more prevalent he has met with the FBI.Following the tragedy in New Zealand he's open to having another meeting with the agency.Numan said he hopes the tragedy will not discourage people from coming his mosque to worship. "We have to not let the differences between us define the way we see each other. I think if we can travel on that path I think it will make a better world for all of us. We are only here for a short period of time, we want to set that example for those that are coming after us,” Numan said
