TDR-1 Fuselage finds a new home

Drone

A World War II Navy drone built at Wurlitzer and GE here in DeKalb during the early 1940s has come back to the Airport. Working with the Prairie State Aviation Museum in Bloomington, Illinois, Tom Cleveland, Airport Manager, was able to secure the return of the TDR-1 fuselage to DeKalb. Roger Keys, our local TDR-1 drone expert, and historian, is thrilled to get this large section of the drone back to continue to try and reconstruct an entire TDR-1.  Roger currently has wings, a canopy, landing gear, propellers, and numerous other items in his collection.  Some day we hope to have a TDR-1 drone display at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport.
