Nine new coronavirus cases in West Bank raises total in Palestine to 686 – Health Minister

 

RAMALLAH, Monday, June 15, 2020 (WAFA) – Nine new cases of coronavirus were recorded today in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, which brings the total in Palestine to 686, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.

She said that the new cases included six children. Eight of the cases were a result of coming into contact with an infected person while the ninth for a worker in Israel. Five of the nine cases were in the town of Halhoul while the other four were in Hebron city.

An earlier case was also recorded in the village of Dar Salah in the Bethlehem district for a Palestinian worker in Israel. As a result, Bethlehem governor declared a lockdown on the village to contain the disease.

Alkaila said 570, or 84.3% of the cases, have recovered in Palestine that includes East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, 111 cases remain active. Five corona-related deaths were reported in Palestine.
