Not long after “MOOO!” earned her viral fame, Doja Cat is gearing up to drop her sophomore album, Hot Pink. She’s already notched her first Hot 100 hit with the lead single “Juicy.” This LP will be her first release since last year’s Amala.
She spoke about the album in an interview with The FADER. “With my first album it was a little bit like I was practicing,” she said. “It’s like, you know the first time you do anything, you kind of have to figure out who you are? I feel like with this second project I know who I am and I know what I want and I know what I want it to sound like. I’m really proud of this.”
Genius rounded up everything we know about the project ahead of its release.
The album will arrive on Nov. 7.
The LA-based artist shared the album design on social media:
So far, we know we’re getting features by Smino and Tyga. But Doja Cat blurred out the featured artist on “Like That.”
“Bottom Bitch” samples a slowed-down riff from blink-182’s 1999 hit “What’s My Age Again?”
Aside from her own production, she linked up with her longtime collaborator Yeti Beats. Ben Billions and Salaam Remi also contributed to the LP.
She’s already dropped a handful of singles: “Juicy,” “Bottom Bitch,” and “Rules.”
Doja Cat also touched on the sound in an interview with MTV’s TRL. “All of them are very different from each other,” she said, “but they do have an African influence in each of them.”
She shared the tracklist in an Instagram post:
