Description

The Anzac Commemorative site, just beyond the foreshore at North Beach close to the northern headland of Anzac Cove. This commemorative site was built with the permission of the Turkish Government by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission with funding from the Australian and New Zealand Governments. A new commemorative site was built in response to the large increase in visitors to the area for Anzac Day and the serious overcrowding experienced at the traditional Dawn Service held for many years at the Ari Burnu Cemetery. The first Dawn Service held at the Anzac Commemorative site was on 25 April 2000.
