Publisher acquires Southlogic Studios as it increases Ubisoft Sao Paulo headcount

Ubisoft has announced that it has completed the acquisition of independent Brazilian developer Southlogic Studios as it expands its South Amercian interests.

The company, established in 1996, had previously worked with Ubisoft on Imagine: Wedding Designer for the Nintendo DS, but also has experience with other publishers globally.

"This acquisition reinforces our commitment to attracting talent in South America, and Brazil in particular, further boosting the group's ambitious expansion plans."

The Southlogic team, numbering around 20 developers, will remain at its base in Porto Alegre, but answer to Ubisoft Sao Paulo. No specific project plans for the company were announced.
