Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will be available exclusively on PlayStation 3 in 2014.

The follow-up compilation to Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix is set to include Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

While Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is set to get the same treatment as 358/2 days in the previous collection (i.e. be featured through unplayable HD cinematics), this marks the first time that the other two games will be available outside of Japan in their Final forms.

The decision to release HD 2.5 Remix has been hinted at for a long time, with the credits for the previous compilation including snippets from the three games included in this bundle. Additionally, when we sat down to talk about Kingdom Hearts III with series producer Shinji Hashimoto he said the studio would consider another HD collection if the reaction to the first one was positive enough.

Well, in a post on the PS Blog it's now been revealed that the original game has sold over 20 million units worldwide, presumably with the aid of the recent re-release. Regardless, it's official at long last: Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is real, and it'll available globally for PS3 users next year.
