Big Bang Reaches Double Platinum Status in Taiwan
Big Bang has confidently extended its popularity to Taiwan.
On April 6, Warner Music, Big Bang’s album distributor in Taiwan shared that Big Bang’s album, Alive had reached double platinum status in the island. The feat is all the more surprising, as Big Bang has not actively promoted in Taiwan as a group.
Alive’s popularity in Taiwan was evident in the music charts as well. Taiwan’s ‘G-Music’ and ‘Five Music’ weekly charts also showed the album was the best-selling K-Pop album for the week with Alive even accounting for 22.28 percent of all album sales for the week on the ‘G-Music’ chart.
Alive’s success continues in Taiwan’s various mobile charts as well with it taking first place on eZPeer’s weekly K-Pop Digital Album chart and the single Blue taking first on ‘Taiwan Mobile’s chart.
Meanwhile Bad Boy took first on Taiwan MTV’s weekly K-Pop chart.
Warner Music added, “Big Bang’s popularity in Taiwan is to the point the album is running out of copies and [there are] additional copies being printed.”
Big Bang will make its first-ever visit to Taiwan as a group on April 9 and 10 for promotions.
