May 11 -- Lincoln National Corp. has reached an agreement that will allow it to leave the last of its individual disability income business.
The block of business will be transferred to MetLife, which will be the fifth-largest individual disability income company after the transfer. The company currently is the third-largest group disability income company.
The transfer affects 30 jobs in Fort Wayne, where Lincoln's life insurance business is based.
Lincoln has not written individual disability policies since early 1996, after the company took a $121.6 million charge to boost reserves after a string of losses. …
