Events that shaped the Rock world in 1967
  • The Beginning of the end for the "Fab Four"
The biggest story in Rock in 1967 was the unexpected death of Beatles' manager Brian Epstein. Epstein watched as the Beatles' members began using drugs. The subsequent changes that happened to the "Fab Four" due to their drug use caused Epstein himself to resort to drug use. He died of an overdose of barbituates soon after. Epstein's death is blamed for the beginning of the end for the Beatles, as they went on to manage themselves. Many problems ensued after this and infighting among the band members led to their breakup in 1970.
