Riley Keough

George Miller seems to be lining up some very pretty ladies for his next, new post-apocalyptic action movie. Heat Vision reports that Riley Keough, the 21-year-old hottie who's only claim to fame right now is being the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, has landed a role in George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. Keough was also recently cast in lesbian werewolf indie film Jack & Diane. Fury Road is supposed to star Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy as Mad Max, but Heat Vision says Keough is playing one of "Five Wives" along with Zoe Kravitz (The Brave One, Twelve) and Adelaide Clemens ("Love My Way", "All Saints"). Read on!

The trade article also mistakenly lists Teresa Palmer as another one of the "Five Wives," a group of women that Hardy as Mad Max must protect from bad guys, but we already know she is definitely not in the movie. So that makes three of them we know (Keough, Kravitz, Clemens) and two still uncast. We ran a big update on the new sequel from Tom Hardy himself in July, but word is that production has been delayed and we're still not sure when the start date is, but the release is still 2012. We don't know much about the plot, but it's interesting to see them revealing a little with the details about the "Five Wives" girls. Stay tuned for updates!

WHY DO THEY HAVE TO SCREW WITH MAD MAX?!! There are some movies that should be retired like jersey numbers.

Not good, Mad Max does not need eye candy, what it needs are super charged Aussie cars in the post apocalyptic out back and mohawk mentallers on motor bikes etc...sorry this will be a flop.....

Okay, uh, am I the only one who thought mad max was a horribly made film? Aside from the stunts that is. His accent was really bad. There wasn't a lot of good acting. The synopsis on Netflix must have been written incorrectly because it led me to believe that his wife would be killed earlier on in the film and not wait until much later. I thought it was a really bad movie. I don't plan on watchin the sequels but this one is sure to be chock full of eye candy ConnachtFan. Really, what is the big deal with Mad Max?

The accent is called an Australian accent. Mel Gibson had that accent in the movie because he is Australian and Mad Max is an Australian b grade movie.

We are not interested in sexy looking girls in a apocalyptic movie. In addition an American actor has never mastered the Aussie accent. They sound like Steve Irwin portrayal from South Park!

I've been a fan of the Mad Max movies sicne the orgonal but I think it's not going to work simply due to the fact that there have been way too many imitators of this genre since it came out. How often can you see the same kind of movie over and over? The only thing that would peak my interest would be if they actually brought back Gibson to play an older and meaner street wise Max with a lot of years of surviving under his belt.

I can ashamedly say that I've never got around to watching Mad Max, does the original still hold up? If I popped it in tonight would it still be absolutely amazing as everyone says? Or should I hold out for this remake and let them reboot my interest before I check it out? I think it's shaping up to be quite the film and going in fresh might enhance the mythology and the experience for me.

well im excited...since i like modern movies more than classics i didn't think Mad Max was all that great, so the fresh look will be nice...look at the bright side, this is the first time someone has done this to Mad Max and not a stack of multiple remakes and sequels of remakes...

Maybe in the sequel (I understand the setting for this installment is after Thunderdome), Max is no longer mad. Maybe he's just "Slightly pissed-off Max." I don't know. I'm tending to agree with #1 on this one.

@ PELOQUIN.......No it wouldn't hold up. I loved it as a kid, watched it the other day and was annoyed by it, changed the channel. "I think it's shaping up to be quite the film and going in fresh might enhance the mythology and the experience for me." agreed!
