Portland, Maine - Portland Pirates General Brad Treliving announced today that the team has acquired goalie Peter Mannino and forward Kenndal McArdle via loan from the St. John’s IceCaps. In return, the Pirates will loan forward Brock Trotter to St. John’s.

This is Mannino’s fourth professional season.

The 5’11”, 190 pound left winger also has 64 penalty minutes and a plus-two rating this season. Prior to this year, McArdle spent four seasons with the Rochester Americans, totaling 34 goals and 34 assists for 68 points in his time with the Amerks. He has played a total of 42 NHL games over his career, 33 for the Florida Panthers and nine earlier this season for Winnipeg. McArdle was drafted 20th overall by Florida in the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Trotter was acquired by Portland’s NHL parent club, the Phoenix Coyotes, via trade from the Montreal Canadiens on October 23. Since joining the Pirates, he’s appeared in 35 games, scoring 12 goals and adding 23 assists for 35 points. He also had two goals and five assists for seven points in five games played earlier this season for the Hamilton Bulldogs. Trotter is a 24 year-old, 5’10”, 185 pound center from Brandon, Manitoba.

As a condition of the deal, the Phoenix Coyotes will retain the recall rights to Trotter, while the Winnipeg Jets retain the recall rights to both Mannino and McArdle.
