Ambassador Roemer honors GE India and PepsiCo India for corporate excellence

New Delhi – U.S. Ambassador to India Timothy J. Roemer honored GE India and PepsiCo India today as finalists for the Secretary of State’s 2010 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE). GE India and PepsiCo India were chosen from scores of applicants worldwide as two of the 12 ACE finalists, selected for their advancement of good corporate citizenship, innovation, and democratic principles.
“The inspirational efforts of PepsiCo India and GE India showcase how effective and responsible corporations give back to their communities, and how the American and Indian partnership benefits and grows as a result,” said Ambassador Roemer. “The selection of PepsiCo India and GE India illustrates the U.S.-India commitment to further corporate social responsibility, innovation, best practices, and democratic values worldwide.”
GE India was honored for fostering local partnerships and volunteerism to support health, education, innovation and disaster recovery projects across India; for its exemplary employment practices; and for its promotion of cleaner, more energy efficient products.
PepsiCo India was selected for its support of the health and well-being of local communities; its provision of important employment opportunities through diversity and inclusion training; and its extensive water conservation efforts.
The final award winner will be announced at a ceremony in Washington, DC on December 17.
