According to sources close to the project, Tobal 2, the sequel to Square's Tobal No. 1, will not be released in the US.

The primary reason for this decision lies in the disappointing performance of the first game, according to a Square executive. It would not be financially feasible, the source explained, to localize the extensive Quest mode if sales of the new game were as unspectacular as the first.

Tobal 2 was recently released in Japan in tandem with the new analog controller, and was previously thought to be the controller's flagship title in the US as well.
