The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has started clearing the
dense jungles where unexplored portions of the Siri Fort wall have
remained hidden for centuries. While many parts of this 13th century
wall located around Khel Gaon Marg, in the heart of south Delhi, have
been exposed by ASI in earlier projects, it is planning to excavate
the entire length of the wall. This exercise is expected to take up to
a year. Sources say this is the only ancient wall in the city where
it's possible to expose the entire structure, unlike Qila Rai Pithora
or Jahapanah wall.
