Batchelor

Temporary home to many RAAF units, Batchelor airfield also housed the US Army Air Force's 46th Air Base Group and No 18 (Dutch East Indies) Squadron, flying bombing missions against Japanese positions in Indonesia and the South-West Pacific. By early 1945, most operational units had moved north to pursue the enemy, and administrative units occupied the field until the final disbandment in January 1946.
