Lily Tomlin's First-ever Calgary Performance

Saturday, April 7, 2007

The 1st North America OutGames and OutFest, in conjunction with Courtney Sebree Aarbo and Fernie Getaways are proud to present one of America's foremost comediennes - Lily Tomlin.

Lily will bring her comical insights and wildly witty observations about the human condition to Calgary in a 90 minute show capping 7 days showcasing drama, film, music, visual arts, photography and spoken word of the GLBT community.

Lily is known for more than a dozen timeless characters--from the irascible telephone operator, Ernestine, to the six year-old Edith Ann. Her extraordinary career has included numerous awards for her brilliant work on television, in film and on Broadway.

She has starred in such television hits as Laugh-In, Murphy Brown and, most recently, The West Wing. On film, she made us laugh as the unappreciated office manager in 9 to 5, the happy homemaker in The Incredible Shrinking Woman and Miss Jane Hathaway in the movie version of The Beverly Hillbillies. On Broadway, she starred in Jane Wagner's critically-acclaimed play, The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe.

Her work has also touched the GLBT community: She won a Peabody for narrating and executive producing The Celluloid Closet, and she starred in the 1983 HBO Special, And the Band Played On.
