Exclusive Interview from the Unofficial Brittany Snow Page
Interview 2
How do you balance school and your job?
It’s very hard but still worth it. When I’m at work I do a scene
and do school in between setups.
How do you keep your hair curly so perfect? Do you have a layered haircut?
Do you have a perm?
My hair is naturally very curly and they use a curling iron on the show to keep
the curls in. I prefer my hair straight though. I don’t have a perm but
I do have a layered haircut.
When not on the set, what do you do in your spare time? Do you have
any hobbies?
I love hanging out with my friends and seeing movies. I’m a huge movie
buff. I love to run and I try to run everyday. I also do Tae Bo. I also like
to shop and write. I like to design clothes as well.
How much traveling back and forth do you do?
I go back to Florida as much as I can, which isn’t very much. I went back
for the summer and maybe 3 times last year. I went home for Homecoming, Christmas,
and another long weekend.
Is acting all that you ever wanted to do? Do you have other dreams?
College?
I want to go to college and study but I know that acting is what I want to do.
I also want to someday direct, produce and be a fashion designer.
Do you have a boyfriend?
Yes, I do. His name is Kyle and we’ve been together for 9 months. He is
also an actor so he understands by schedule.
What has been your favorite episode thus far?
I loved either the Valentines’ Day episode and the Beach episode the best.
They were so much fun to do and I loved the storylines in those.
How did you get your part on American Dreams?
I came out to LA to screen test for another pilot and auditioned for the part.
I really loved this one as soon as I read it. It was so well written. I had
the call back, went to meet the Director and Producer and then the executives
at NBC. It is more difficult than people think because there are so many others
that want the job as well.
How is it to be on the show with Joey Lawrence and Will Estes?
They are both the nicest coolest guys, They are so down to earth and like big
brothers to me. They give me lots of advice and always are there for me. They
are also so talented and very cute.
Do you have any future movie plans? Are you working on the next season
of American Dreams yet?
I would love to get movies. It is difficult to do a movie while I am working
on American Dreams but I am hoping to do one next summer if it is the right
one. We have started on the next season already. You are going to love the show..
it has gotten even better. We have Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keyes, Lil Kim and
Monica so far. We are on the 4th new show now.
Can you do gymnastics?
I WISH! I can do cartwheels but didn’t do a lot of gymnastics because
I was doing so much dancing and singing. I also only have one kidney so my parents
and doctor didn’t think it would be a very good idea in case I would get
injured.
What tips do you have for those that want to get into acting?
Go for it! It takes LOTS of determination and responsibility. You need to take
classes and get a good agent. You can get into local plays at school and community
theaters to get experience. It is better to start early because the competition
gets harder the older you get.
What is your favorite:

TV Actress: Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bullock
and Kate Hudson
TV Actor: Ryan Phillipe, James Dean Matthew Mconahan, Ashton
Kutcher

From Steve:
Brittany you have become one of the most talented stars today. Not only
are girls amazed with your talent but so are the guys. Your are also regarded
as one of the most beautiful rising stars. Therefore, I would like to know what
you look for in a guy and do you have a boyfriend?
Thank you for you nice comments.. he he,,, I am so flattered.
I do have a boyfriend and his name is Kyle. And he is an actor too. I look for
a guy who has a great personality, someone who is not impressed with himself
and has a good outlook on life. I like a great smile and someone who can make
me laugh. I really like to have fun and if he’s my boyfriend or a guy
friend he needs to smile and laugh.
From David:
I think you play a Roman Catholic school girl so well. Has any personal
religious background helped you in your portrayal of an East Catholic High student?
Thank you for your nice compliments! I am a Catholic even thought I have gone
to many different churches with friends. I have a strong relationship with God
and I love that my character is too.
From Mark:
Hello ma'am, I think you're a beautiful wonderful actress, and I wish
you great luck in the future. I've always loved to act, and without having to
do stage work, what is a good way to get directly into acting in films?
Thank you for thinking I am a wonderful actress and for the luck in the future.
That’s very cool you want to get into acting. It is definitely a hard
career but if you want it, you can do it! I have never really done theater because
I like camera acting better but I would recommend getting an agent and some
headshots. Take classes and really work hard.
From Kristina:
Hey Brittany! I love American Dreams and think your great! I'm also
a dancer from FL! :) I have 2 questions...1, Has the cast become like your real
family? and 2, Are you dating Kyle Searles?? Thanks!
Hey Florida girl! That’s so cool! Yeah, oh man the cast has become like
a family to me and I love them more than anything. Tom has become like my real
dad and I come to him for advice and any problems I have. Vanessa and Rachel
are definitely my best friends and like sisters. Will is the coolest and we
are very good friends. Yes, I am dating Kyle Searles. You may have seen him
on Moolah Beach or Dawson’s Creek. He is the coolest person ever. We’ve
been together for 9 months.
From Andy:
I heard you singing backup on the American Dreams soundtrack and was
wondering if you were going to continue pursuing a singing career, maybe even
put out your own album?
Yes, Vanessa and I are on the American Dreams soundtrack album, I have been
singing since I was six and I love it. I would love to come out with an album
someday. Probably when I’m older because acting is my first love.
From Cory:
On Guiding Light you worked closely with Paul Wasilewski, Did you recommend
him for the role of Tommy on Dreams or is it just a coincidence? Or perhaps
did the writers see you great chemistry with him on GL and have something in
mind for the future on American Dreams?
I know it’s crazy but it was totally a coincidence! I didn’t know
he was even trying out for the role and he didn’t even mention he knew
me when he tried out. When he got it we both flipped out. I love him to death
and it has always been a pleasure to work with him so it was a great surprise.
I don’t know what he is doing now but it would be fun to have him on the
show again this year.
What current music star would you like to see on the show as a 60’s
star? Does Dick Clark have you lined up to present at the American Music Awards
in November?
I really love John Mayer so I would love to have him on the show. He is so talented.
I also love Linkin Park. They Rock! Britney Spears really intrigues me and I
think it would be so cool for her to come on. Of course the coolest would have
to be Janet Jackson, How awesome would she be? I would love to present at the
American Music Awards but there are always so many big stars that want to do
that.. I will have to wait and see if I am asked to do that! Wow that would
be awesome!
From Janelle:
How can an aspiring actress as myself get started in a non Hollywood
city?
Well I would recommend getting an agent in your town and trying out for local
things. Get some pictures and headshots and start to build a resume. Soon you’ll
be ready to either put yourself on tape for NY and LA auditions or go to NY
or LA for awhile. Many people come to LA during pilot season which is when they
are doing the casting for the new shows for the fall. In the summer they cast
the people who are in the shows for one episode or a few of them. If you want
to be on stage and can sing and dance you should go to New York. If you want
to be on television or do movies you should come to LA. But, it is difficult
to get work unless you are in the Union which is called SAG. You can earn your
way into SAG by doing extra work, doing a SAG commercial or getting a regular
acting job with lines. You might also want to contact a manager .. it is sometimes
easier to get a manager than it is an agent when you are first getting started.
They will recommend classes to take and what to do.
Remember me when you make it BIG! :-)
From Danielle:
What is your favorite color?
I have a few favorites. They are yellow, pink and light blue.
From Mike:
What makes you blush?
Any comments abut sexual stuff or bodily functions make me blush. I am a sissy
when it comes to that stuff. I also blush when people pay me a compliment.
From Philip aka- Sami:
If you were to ever meet a decent writer such as myself, would you go
out of your way to help them on their quest to enter Hollywood?
I would definitely try to help anyone who would need help. I was once ( not
very long ago) looking for work and needed help in this crazy world of entertainment
and Hollywood. It is so hard to know who the right people are though. If you
are a good writer I would see if you could become a writers assistant on a show
so they could see how good you are. If there is a particular show you like..
send them a copy of a script that might be something they could use. I think
there are also writers agents so you may want to contact some of them. I know
they also have classes out here and groups that get together who are all writers.
I have a couple of friends who are writers and still struggling.
From Debbie Miller:
I have been told a good actress will do any type of part. Would you
do anything or do you choose or turn down parts that might have things that
go against your morals?
I am definitely out to show my range of ability and do different parts and I
would like to do some that are a little edgier than Meg Prior. I did that on
Guiding Light when I was playing the bad girl. But, there is a line that I will
not cross. I have very strong morals and I believe acting is about playing a
part and touching people making them laugh, smile, cry, be frightened, etc.
But, when a part would call fore exposure that goes against my beliefs I would
turn it down in a heartbeat No matter what the price. I also don’t want
to do cheesy teen movies or parts. I want to be considered a serious young adult
actress. I did turn down some movies last summer that were not very good.
From James:
Do you plan to do any more episodes with Guiding Light?
I would love to. I had the best time and I would love to se the family there
that I grew up with. I don’t have any dates planned and they haven’t
asked me but I would love to do it. Guiding Light is on CBS so they may not
want someone from NBC on their show or vice versa.
What kind of car do you have?
I got an Acura RSX before I started on American Dreams. I love it. Her name
is SexyLexy the RSX-y. How is that for a name?
From Cat:
If you could be in any film past or present what would it be and why?
I would love to be in Charlies Angels. I love the fact they trained so hard
and kicked major butt. I would have loved to also be in Breakfast at Tiffany’s
or Sliding Doors which is my favorite movie.
From GREASE Fan:
If you werent’ an actress what would you have liked to be when
you left school?
I’d really want to act but if I couldn’t I’d be a fashion
designer, a director, producer or singer.
