No Malayalam films were released this Vishu festival, those released three weeks earlier became successful in all the centers. Mazhathullikkilukkam, a Dileep-Navya Nair film has completed 50 days run in several centers.

Oomappenninu Uriyaadaappayan has completed 15 days. This has Kavya Madhavan as the leading lady. The hero Jayasoorya and Villain Indrajith are new comers.

Kuberan another Dileep starrer with Samyuktha Varma and Uma has completed 10 days, also passes for a 'success-in-first week' film.

Oomappenninu Uriyaadaappyyan is an average film but the viewers have accepted it alright. Though an ordinary love story it has a slight deviation as far as the characters are concerned. They are dump and the dramatic moments and their expressions are new to the audience.

Kuberan has earned the name of a pleasant comedy film and the trust industry has on Dileep as the current sure bet artist has proved true once again. Uma the new artist has a chance of staying in the field due to the success of Kuberan. All the songs in this film have become hits. Samyuktha Varma once again scores as a pleasing artist.

Mazhathullikkilukkam has crossed 50 days and Dileep has consolidated his position as lucky hero though he could not earn the status of a super star, which it seems reserved for Mohan Lal and Mammootty. Perhaps Dileep needs more chances to prove his range as an actor. He is presently playing safe as half hero-half comedian.
