Death differs from other stages of human life because it can not be absolutely recognized. Courteous attention to the dying and meeting his/her psycho-social needs is the spirit of the help for the dying. The renewal of intercommunication of the dying at maximum is the prime task of social workers in the helping process. Social workers must have exhaustive theoretical knowledge and practical skills for this role. The subject of the investigation was 118 social workers working in Šiauliai region. They voluntarily filled in the anonymous questionnaire. The respondents had high or higher social education or had finished special courses for social workers. They worked in care homes, hospitals or communal social service. The results revealed that...

Music schools which dominate other non-formal education are not exempted because students’ lived experiences show that learning is given meaning there even before the commencement of formal learning. When formal learning starts, the perception of meaningfulness of learning begins to change. Results demonstrate that usually opposite experiences of those things which are expected are gained after students start learning, and that continuous communication between students and teachers in music schools is an antidote against meaningless teaching and learning.

A particular school which had recently implemented changes was chosen for the investigation. The research is based on application of the strategy of the grounded theory. By employing the method of the scientific literature review, the current research paper aims to investigate the roles of teacher educators within the framework of the afore mentioned theories that are considered to ensure adequate assistance to pre-service teachers in their becoming reflective practitioners. As the results show, in order to carry out effective facilitation, teacher educators should acknowledge and adopt a wide variety of roles while developing pre-service teachers’ capacity of reflective practice.

Socio-emotional education, in conjunction with academic instruction, aims to lay the groundwork for a sound moral education. This manuscript is aimed at proving that socio-emotional education may improve children’s mental health. In total, 1322 students (of grades K5–K12) participated in this study back in October 2020. A statistically validated and partially modified questionnaire according to The Limbic Performance Indicators™ (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.92, p < 0.000) was used to assess general education school students’ social–emotional competencies. The study uses an abbreviated version of the questionnaire adapted by the Lithuanian Association of Social Emotional Education, which has been adapted with the consent of the selected age group. As a result, this study explores how to determine general education school students’ know...

Most often, professionals working with the elderly have noticed a problem of loneliness caused by self-alienation and self rejection (Moustakas, 2008). These experiences clearly illustrate the phenomenon of existential loneliness in the lives of the elderly. If the problem of existential loneliness is not solved, it causes psychosocial problems that turn into existential anxiety and cause a sense of meaninglessness, which Yalom (1980) identifies as one of the four existential “gifts” next to death, freedom, and isolation. Studies focusing on the loneliness of older people in the European context are rare. However, the existential needs and existential loneliness of the elderly are d...
