What’s cooking in Doon’s celeb world this New Year?

As Doon was submerged in the excitement of New Year’s eve parties and the residents were trying to come up with smart resolutions to make the year 2015 special, here’s a list of how Doon-based celebrities bid the year goodbye.
Model-turned-actress Urvashi Rautela
Model-turned-actress Urvashi Rautela was born in Doon and lived here for a while before she moved to Delhi.She tells us, “For the New Year’s celebration, I decided to go on a five-day-long vacation to Kalpa Himachal Pradesh, with my family and friends. I’ll also be shooting there for a film, so it’s gonna be a combination of work and fun.” [sic]
Resolution: I have decided to party hard the coming year, and am resolving to get emotionally stronger. It’s time to let loose!

Actor Archana Puran Singh
Actor Archana Puran Singh grew up in Doon and attended the Convent of Jesus and Mary. She tells us, “The mere thought of spending the New Year’s Eve in a large crowd of drunken revellers is enough to make me want to sit at home with my family and enjoy home-cooked food. Usually, friends drop in and we eventually have what we call ‘the leftovers party’. Since nowadays, there are very few of us who are left over here – half the population is out of Mumbai, celebrating New Year’s Eve in Goa.”
Resolution: Frankly, I don’t ever make a New Year’s resolution. I feel one outgrows the childlike belief that one resolution at the beginning of the year can somehow be life-altering. So, I prefer to strive for change throughout the year.
Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal
Bollywood playback singer Jubin Nautiyal was born and brought in Dehradun and attended Welham Boys’ School. He is back to the city to celebrate the New Year’s Eve, and tells us, “ I plan to spend the New Year’s Eve with my parents and elder sister at home. I have specially come down to Dehradun to spend some time with them. After the New Year’s celebration, I will head to Mussoorie and spend some time with my friends. I have also been invited to perform at the Mussoorie Winter Carnival-2014, and it will be great performing for the local audience.”
Resolution: My new years resolution is to spend more time with my baby – my guitar .
Actor Himani Shivpuri
Actor Himani Shivpuri, who has played the role of a doting mother or a fun bua to the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan, did her schooling from Doon school. She tells us,“ I plan to have a quiet New Year’s Eve. And the coming year, I shall dedicate more time doing things I enjoy – like theatre, reading, writing and spending time with my family and friends.”
TV actor Veebha Anand
TV actor Veebha Anand did her schooling from Doon Presidency School. She tells us, “On New Year’s Eve, I plan to spend time with my family and friends from the TV industry. I am looking forward to have lots of fun with them as this year was very special for me.”
Resolution: My New Year’s resolution will be to focus on fitness and be happy in every situation.
