Divya Dutta had a fangirl moment shooting with Kattappa of Baahubali, Sathyaraj

Divya Dutta is making her debut in Malayalam cinema with Resul Pookutty’s Otta. Interestingly, it’s the project that also marks the Academy Award winning sound designer’s directorial debut with the Malayalam film.
As she began shooting for the film, Divya got excited as she got the opportunity to shoot with south actor, Sathyaraj, known for his performance in Baahubali as Kattappa. Talking about teaming up with the actor for the project, Divya said, “He plays my father-in-law in the film.He’s such a humble person. It is great that working in different industries you get a chance to work with such talented actors and technicians. I think it’s a great time for talent exchange!”
In an earlier chat with us, Divya had opened up about her plunge into Malayalam cinema and the equation she shares with Resul. She said, “Resul is a dear friend and when he approached me for this project I said yes. I am playing a Punjabi in this Malayalam film. I didn’t have to talk too much Malayalam and have only mouthed a few lines. As a director Resul would totally immerse himself in the scenes. It was a pleasure watching him watch the monitor. It’s his first directorial and I could see the passion in him.”

With south films being in demand of late, Divya now hopes that she gets an opportunity to be a part of a spectacle film there. She had said, “I am waiting for such an opportunity! See, I am the one, who whistles in the audience (when watching magnum opus movies) and I definitely want to see myself on the big screen and see people whistling and clapping for me (Laughs!).”
