YEREVAN, December 4. /TASS/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said in parliament that the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will not be held in Yerevan because he has found it inexpedient.
"Personally, I consider it inexpedient to hold the summit in Armenia, because not all members of the EAEU Supreme Economic Council are desirable for Armenia," he said.
Earlier, Pashinyan accused Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko of supporting Azerbaijan during the hostilities and stated that no Armenian official would travel to that country as long as Lukashenko remained president.
Pashinyan also commented on reports that the EAEU event was to not be held in Armenia, because it could cause problems with Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit due to Armenia's ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
"We asked the Russian side to solve this issue through a bilateral agreement, but we did not receive consent," he said.
Earlier, Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said that at the request of the EAEU president Armenia the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council would be held in Russia - in St. Petersburg - on December 25. Pashinyan will chair the session.
