Tiger shelling wounds SLA officer

The Sri Lankan Army (SLA) said that the Liberation Tigers fired three artillery rounds on the convoy and escort of Sri Lanka's deputy defence mininster, Gen. Anuruddha Ratwatte, and the commanders of the Sri Lankan Air Force, Navy, and Army, around 10.30 a.m., killing four soldiers and injuring forty two.
The SLA special forces commando body guards of the deputy minister were among the soldiers wounded in the LTTE shelling. Major Genral Neil Dias General Officer Commanding 53 division was also wounded in this attack said sources. SLA spokesman strongly denied rumors that General Ratwatte was also wounded. Meanwhile SLA troops stationed in Oddusuddan have launched shell attacks towards the Muthayankaddu and Katchilaimadu area, reports reaching Vavuniya said. Details of the damage were not known.
