Introduction
Long story short, RPG Maker MV is a barely working mess of a game engine. Unless a game has an official Linux port, it'll be barely playable as windows versions of RPGMMV games just don't function properly on Linux under wine.
Though F&H is marked as a "verified" Steam Deck game, it's framerate is terrible, it barely holds about 20 FPS most of the time and drops to unplayable 1-5 FPS on the locations in the endgame. This guide is dedicated to fixing this problem.
About the guide update
Thanks to Savvy Kat, the much more elegant solution for Steam Deck has been found!
Now you neither need to change the executable file in the properties of the game, nor add it through the browser of Steam as a non-Steam game.
Downloading and configuring the required files
First of all, we need to download NW.js. To do so:

1) Open Google, type "nw js" and open the first link to appear in the search.

2) Open the "Downloads" tab.

3) Press the "Previous releases" button.

4) Find "v0.57.1" folder.

5) Download the "nwjs-v0.57.1-win-x64.zip" file.

After the download we need to extract the files from the archive to the game folder and do some configuring actions.

The path to the game may vary, the default one is:
/home/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Fear & Hunger/

Having unpacked the files, we need to remove the original "Game.exe" file.

Having uninstalled the original executable file, we need to rename the "nw.exe" file to "Game.exe", it'll become the new launcher for the game.

And that's it! The game should work perfectly fine with this new method now and there should be no problems using it in Steam Deck's Gaming Mode!
Conclusion
That's it. Go on and enjoy the game now.

No idea about it, never played with mods.

Are these changes compatible with mods likes frappola's fix or reign of the the gods?

If the fix is replacing the game's executable with NodeJS's why is that needed at all? Node runs fine on Linux there shouldn't be any issues building for it.

It does, I have a separate guide for Termina as it requires extra steps.

Does this work for Termina as well? I ended up finishing all the endings of F&H 1 on the steam deck which was a pain in the ass, but now with Termina, I want a pristine experience of the game, so I was wondering if it's the same setup for Termina as well.

You could try different proton versions, but it seems to me that this would mean reinstalling the game and manually removing both folders after every unsuccessful attempt.
I have no idea why, but sometimes the game just breaks for no reason, this happened to me too while making the guide. I installed and reinstalled the game with the fix both on my Steam Deck and Linux PC multiple times to be sure it's actually working. One time plain bruteforce somehow managed to help - while the game refused to launch on my SD, I reinstalled the game like three times in a row, repeating every step exactly and changing nothing, and it launched.

Hello, what do I need to do after removing the game and the protons files? I've deleted everything, then reinstalled the game, followed the tutorial step by step, but the game still doesn't want to launch :/ + I managed to launch it before but it erased my saves (but that's probably my fault) Anyway sorry for bothering but could you please help?

Try removing the game completely, including manually deleting the game folder and the proton prefix folder.
It happened to me too. I don't know for sure, but my suggestion is that it happens because of the changes that might occur in the proton folder after installing the fix. It's like any changes in it after the first launch breaks the game.
