This game has a somewhat acquired taste with the whole story & combat theme being around "repetition until victory / freedom" which can turn quite a lot of players off after a short while

I, for example, nearly broke my gamepad in half at the time-grandpa boss fight since that one was the definition of a pace breaker

With that said the game feels overall like a rather early demo than an actually finished game, with missing essential sounds in some sections and combat actions being rough around the edges (e.g. the dash seeming inconsistent in invincibility length, pistol's janky auto-lockon... etc.)

also the graphics are almost spot-on while the audio design is either too silent or nonexistent, meaning e.g. collecting stuff is only 50% satisfying

i shouldn't talk since i also made a rage-game (that actually costs something and is infinitely worse) but:

I enjoyed my time with this game even if I nearly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my gamepad's sweet ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to death on every losing-screen.
The game may look quite generic, like default RPGMaker assets were used, but that doesn't really apply when actually playing the game yourself

-The character-handling is quite tight and responsive

-All my homies think the music is a banger

-funny cry-feature

-The level design never really makes you forget about your abilities

-Player-Friendly features such as outlining the character with the press of a button, which should be there by default

-Getting to the goal is satisfying enough to make me ♥♥♥


-Precision Platformers / Kaizo Games are quite tricky to make NOT repetitive since their fundamental gameplay-loop is [DIE and TRY AGAIN], meaning they would have to introduce new mechanics 2x faster than any normal game (like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tiktok-scrolling brainrot)

-Too little feedback-loops, which puts you in a disadvantage frequently (e.g. Never knowing if I have another jump left from my double-jump)

-Audio-feedback is also rather lacking, since most are too quiet and get drowned out from the music

-Spike hitboxes seem unfair when going million miles an hour (Maybe design them to fit their actual hitbox)

-Player locomotion accelerates too fast in extreme sections (having to tap the move-button and pray to succeed)

-Running-animation speed doesn't fully fit the player's input speed
