• 1907: elected a Fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and appointed to the University Readership relinquished by Kenny.
• 1919: elected to Downing Professorship of the Laws of England Foundation of series of studies in English legal history under Hazeltine's general editorship (12 volumes were published)
• 1926: contribution to the " Cambridge Medieval History", the highlight of his career. Father dies, leaves no money Hazeltine published many book reviews to supplement his income Hon. LL.D. from Brown University and Harvard University
• 1940: returns to Cambridge, MA.
• 1955: gives set of letters from legal scholars, historians, etc. to Harvard Law School Library; all include his comments on the individual writers of the letters. Litt. D., University of Cambridge
• 1960: dies
