In 1927, in partnership with others, Perry purchased The Evening News of Monroe, Michigan. He would serve as vice president of this organization until 1957.
Though Perry never practice law after 1901, he continued to be active in legal organizations, serving on various committees of the Michigan State Bar, and a member of the Michigan Judicial Council.
