Biography

Higgins was born in Noumea, New Caledonia on July 28, 1941; attended Sorbonne, University of Paris, 1965; BA, Stanford, 1967; MFA, UCLA, 1970; screenwriter and director of film comedies Harold and Maude, Silver Streak, Foul Play, and Nine to Five ; his film, Harold and Maude, was based on a screenplay written for his master's thesis; died on August 5, 1988.
