Unforgiveness self-check with others. Do you . . . 1. Continually rehearse the wounding scenario connected to this person? 2. Avoid and treat them with indifference? 3. Talk to others about them in a negative light? 4. Carry a secret wish that they would somehow fail or feel pain? 5. Treat them in a passive/aggressive way? 6. Become easily offended by them?

Forgiveness is not: Letting wrongdoers off the hook, Failing to hold people accountable for their actions, Forgetting, denying, ignoring, or overlooking the wrongs that have occurred, Repressing genuine feelings of hurt, anger, or hate. Condoning, excusing, or justifying bad behavior, unkindness, or abuse or becoming complicit in continuing it, Denying, minimizing, or excusing your hurt or your feelings, Condemning the offender Contingent on seeking justice or compensation. Calming down. A sign of weakness. Equivalent to trust. Forgiveness can be given, but trust must be earned.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32) Unforgiveness ≠ Love TRUE Forgiveness = Love

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13) 4 Forgiveness is patient, Forgiveness is kind. I learned that for True Forgiveness I needed to first recognize the hurt. It takes time I did not need an apology It releases us I learned that when we forgive we reflect the Father's love
