Welcome to Back- to -School Night at Lynnewood Elementary School

Homeroom Mrs.Garagozzo ’ s Classroom (3-G) Room 110, Ext Our Instructional Day: 8:35 AM – 3:30 PM Please be prompt!!! Starting on time at 8:45 sharp gets all of us off to an excellent start!

General Information Absences – Please send in an absence note within 3 days of your child ’ s absence. Book Clubs – Order online :) scholastic.com Conferences – Please sign up at outside table with your child ’ s HOMEROOM teacher for the December Conference. Field Trips – Chaperones will be contacted by the teacher. Thank you for volunteering! Lunch Account – A check may be sent to the homeroom teacher or done online. Checks should be made payable to the school district. Medication – all medications must be dropped off at the nurse ’ s office for dispensing.

Classroom Rules and Discipline The Responsive Classroom program will be used to resolve conflicts, teach social skills, and to stimulate reflection and discussion while creating a community of cooperative learners. Stages of Discipline – verbal redirection, time out, student writes a note home to the parent/guardian with a strategy of their choice to remediate the behavior (parent signs note and returns it to school), and phone call home.

Family Communication Homework Assignment Book Please sign the book every night Voice Mail Ext I will check my messages throughout the day, but please keep in mind we sometimes have meetings at lunch time and after school. I will return your call as soon as I am able to do so. Please DO NOT leave transportation messages on voic , as I may not receive them in time. Please call the office For emergencies please call Ext. 4000

Transportation If there is a change in transportation the teacher must be notified in writing or a call must be made to the office. Please DO NOT leave messages of this nature on my voice mail, as meetings and glitches in the system may prevent me from getting the information in time. At no time will a child be allowed to go home on another bus with a friend without written parental permission.

Celebrations Birthday Celebrations: Birthday pencils, classroom book donations, classroom game donations Seasonal Parties – Halloween, Winter, Valentine ’ s Day, and End of The Year Celebration. Student committees will plan for the Seasonal Parties. Each child will be assigned to a committee. Written notices will be sent home the week before, so parents can assist students with the preparations. You are always welcome to stop by and visit on these days!! Homeroom parents plan and implement the End- of-the-Year-Party

Grading & Report Cards Report cards will be issued on 12/7, 3/8, and 6/18. Conferences are on December 13/14 and on March 14/15. Please sign up for your December conference with your child ’ s HOMEROOM TEACHER. “ Test Alert ” will be written in HW planners prior to test dates
