Description: Annual with twining stems, glabrous.

Leaves pinnatisect; lamina ovate in outline, 2.5–6.5 cm long, 2.5–3 cm wide, divided almost to the midrib into 10–13 pair of linear, acute lobes, glabrous; petiole 0.5–1.7 cm long with finely divided pseudo-stipules in the stem axils.

Inflorescence 1-few-flowered. Corolla trumpet-shaped, crimson with a paler throat, glabrous; tube 1.5–3 cm long; limb 2–2.2 cm diam.

Capsule ovoid, 5–7 mm diam., 4-locular, splitting into 4 valves; seeds warty.
