Abstract

The object of compiling this treatise is to supply the Parsees a manual containing the morals of ancient Iranians and Zoroastrians. That there is a want of such a manual will be admitted by all thoughtful Zoroastrians, and if it should prove useful until a better one should be out, the compiler’s object shall have been gained. There was no alternative but to take entire select pieces of prayers from the Avesta, and these have been so arranged that they can be used by any person so as to serve the purpose of ordinary prayer and can be recited at any time and at any place.
