Danielle Fishel's life has gotten a lot sweeter since welcoming her kids, Adler Lawrence Karp and Keaton Joseph Karp.

After the Boy Meets World actress and her husband, Jensen Karp, married in 2018, the couple started a family with the birth of their son Adler in June 2019. Although there were a few bumps in the road at the beginning due to medical reasons, he made a quick recovery and is now often spotted enjoying different sports like basketball and catching glimpses of his mom's career.

Over two years later, Adler became a big brother when Fishel and Karp celebrated the arrival of Keaton in August 2021. As he's grown, Fishel has shared special family moments but like she did with Adler, she makes a point to protect their privacy while they're still young by hiding their faces on social media.

Still, she's spoken about her parenthood journey and juggling it with her evolving work in Hollywood. Although she admitted to feeling "mom guilt" after Adler's birth, it was an easier transition after Keaton was born, and since then, Fishel has continued learning new lessons along the way.

“I want my kids to look at the way I lived my life and say, ‘Mistakes, flaws, whatever. It was fine,' " she told Romper. "'She was pursuing her authentic self and pursuing what was good for her and for the greater good of the family. And I want to emulate that, too.’ ”

Here's everything to know about Danielle Fishel's kids, Adler and Keaton.

Fishel and Karp welcomed their first child, son Adler Lawrence Karp, on June 24, 2019. The couple exclusively told PEOPLE that his middle name was an homage to Karp's late father.

The Girl Meets World star announced on Instagram that he arrived one month early, and unfortunately, there were complications upon his birth, including fluid build-up in his lungs. After 21 days of receiving medical care in the neonatal intensive care unit, which involved a procedure to help the healing process, Adler was well enough for his parents to take him home.

“He’s definitely a chill baby," she later told PEOPLE, adding that he was born with a ton of hair. "He’s giving us lots of smiles and ... he’s very curious."

Over the next few weeks, Fishel also shared other heartfelt behind-the-scene moments with her son, like him meeting her former costars Ben Savage and Sabrina Carpenter for the first time.

Fast forward, when the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the U.S. in 2020, the actress expressed her appreciation for him in honor of his first birthday.

"You have been an endless joy in an otherwise dark year," she captioned a photo of him. "Thanks for making it easy to get out of bed at 5:50a every day because I know I have your smile waiting for me. And coffee."

Though the TV director maintains Alder's privacy, she has shared glimpses of his milestones, including when he began walking, talking and his first memories of the holiday season.

Apart from his mom and dad, Adler also shared a special connection with his late maternal grandfather Joseph, who was affectionally called Papa Joe. According to Fishel, the two had "a wonderful relationship," and Alder would often imitate him while playing pretend.

Fishel and Karp expanded their family with the addition of their second child, Keaton Joseph Karp, on Aug. 29, 2021.

After the actress shared the pregnancy news on her fortieth birthday, she announced the birth by posting a photo of her older son holding Keaton. In the caption, Fishel revealed that Keaton was born on his late paternal grandfather's birthday, and his middle name honors his now-late maternal grandfather.

"Adler is a super(hero) big brother and @jensenkarp and I are thrilled to have him home, healthy and safe, with us," she concluded the Instagram post.

Early on, her second son was ready to be on the move and in no time, he was walking around the house trying to keep up with his older brother.

"Keaton absolutely thinks everything Adler does is funny and wonderful, and he can't take his eyes off him," Fishel told Parents. "I love watching them together. I can't wait to see how they grow together."

Speaking to Romper, the entrepreneur opened up about what a big adjustment it was to go from one kid to two. Now, it seems like Fishel and her husband have gotten into a rhythm with their children.

From time to time, she posts sneak peeks of their daily family life, complete with arcade games, and the married couple also take the holidays to publicly celebrate each other.

"Happy Mother’s Day to the best Boy Mom in the world, @daniellefishel," Karp wrote on Instagram in 2023. "As much as our sons are gifts to us, she is the true gift to them."
