Abstract

A positioning and fixing device for a work pallet has a base member, X-, Y-, and Z-axis positioning mechanisms for positioning an annular ring member on the work pallet side relative to the base member in the X-, Y-, and Z-directions, respectively, and a clamp mechanism for clamping the ring member to the base member. The X- and Y-axis positioning mechanisms have engagement projections formed on an annular reference member secured to the upper surface of the base member, and also have engagement recesses formed in the ring member and engaged with the engagement projections. The annular reference member has a first slot part for allowing a pair of tilt wall parts, which form a pair of tapered surfaces of the engagement projection, to elastically deform in the mutually approaching directions, and also has a second slot part for allowing the lower ends of the pair of tilt wall parts to elastically deform downward.
