Definitions
- the present invention relates to a universal guide device for sliding doors of a piece of furniture according to the preamble of claim 1, which has at least one rod that can be fixed to a furniture body.
- the sliding door is slidably mounted on the rod via at least two rollers.
- Guide devices of the generic type are known in many embodiments.
- a guide device in the lower and a further guide device in an upper end region of the sliding door element are usually required for mounting a sliding door element on a piece of furniture.
- two guide devices, namely one in an upper region and one in a lower region of the furniture body, are usually used on the furniture body in order to enable the sliding door to be moved securely.
- a guide device for sliding doors is known from EP 1 057 963 A2, which has a guide rail which has a C-shaped fastening groove in its central cross-sectional area for receiving fastening means. Guide grooves are provided above and below the fastening groove in order to guide rollers.
- a guide device is only conditionally suitable for heavy sliding doors, such as glass doors in particular.
- the guide device comprises at least one guide element which is fastened to a furniture body by means of holding elements and at least two rollers which are fastened to the sliding door at the same time via fastening elements.
- the sliding door is slidably mounted on the guide element via the rollers.
- the guide element is designed as a cylindrical rod and the rollers have such a tread that the tread always lies completely on the rod at the point of contact between the roller and the rod.
- the rollers have a partially circular shape in section.
- This provides a simply constructed and stable guide device, which is particularly useful for heavy sliding doors such.
- B. sliding glass doors is suitable.
- the guide device consists of simply constructed parts, so that it can be produced relatively inexpensively. Furthermore, an unintentional unhooking of the sliding doors is not possible with such a design using an upper and lower rod.
- the guide device preferably has two cylindrical rods.
- One of the rods is preferably arranged in an upper region of the furniture body and the other rod is fastened to the furniture body in a lower region.
- two rods are arranged adjacent to one another, either on an upper part of the furniture body or on a lower part of the furniture body. As a result, the sliding door is only guided on an upper or lower area and the opposite area of the sliding door is exposed relative to the furniture body. Nevertheless, the sliding door is safely stored and guided on two parallel bars.
- the guide device preferably has one or more continuously adjustable stops in order to prevent the sliding door from being inadvertently pushed off the guide device.
- the stop or stops are particularly preferably attached to the rod.
- the continuously adjustable stops are designed so that they form a closed annular area which is pushed onto the rod.
- a projection that forms a soft stop on one side for the guide rollers of the sliding doors.
- there is a threaded hole in the projection into which a grub screw is inserted.
- Each roller is preferably fastened to the sliding door by means of a fastening element.
- the fastening element is guided through a through opening formed in the sliding door. These are preferably punctiform fastenings which are flush with the glass pane on the outside of the sliding door.
- the fastening element is an integral part of the structure of the roller. This prevents another additional type of fastening, which is particularly aimed at ensuring that no additional components need to be used when using glass doors.
- the through opening within the sliding door can be designed in a step-like manner or it is also possible for a conical area with a larger diameter to adjoin a cylindrical area toward the outside of the sliding door. Because of this shape, the fastening element with a complementary shape is used within this through opening. The outside of the fastener is flush with the outside of the sliding door.
- the roller is constructed in such a way that the tread has a rubber-like convex shape, the fixed axis, which is connected to the fastening element, being mounted relative to the rotatable part of the roller via a bearing.
- the cylindrical rods of the guide device are particularly preferably arranged on the outside of the furniture body. This enables the sliding door to be made larger than an opening provided in the furniture body.
- the rod is particularly preferably attached to a surface of the front of the furniture body or to upper or lower surfaces (surfaces parallel to the floor).
- the rod is attached to the furniture body at an angle.
- the sliding door can also be easily guided inside the furniture body.
- the rods can also be attached to the furniture body using holding elements.
- the holding elements for the rods are preferably designed such that they only partially grip around the rods.
- the holding elements particularly preferably grip around the rod in such a way that the holding elements do not interfere with the running of the rollers on the rod. In other words, the area of the rod on which the rollers run is not covered by the holding elements.
- the holding elements can also completely encompass the rods.
- a holding element preferably consists of a fastening element and a running rail holder (rod holder).
- the fastening member connected to the substructure is preferably designed as a pot-like fastening bush, which rests with its pot bottom of the substructure, so that the adjustment bearing can be rotatably supported in an internal thread of the fastening bush with a complementary external thread.
- the wall of the pot-like fastening bush has an external thread, onto which a union bell can be screwed by means of a complementary internal thread.
- the running track receptacle itself consists of a holding area receiving the running track, the supporting or holding rod and a hollow cylindrical extension which is connected to the holding area and is directed against the substructure and which is supported with a counter surface, preferably with an annular supporting surface, on the adjusting surface of the adjusting bearing.
- track mountings can be used in which the hollow cylindrical extension directed against the substructure has different lengths, so that tolerances can be compensated for.
- a grub screw that can be adjusted against the running rail or the supporting or holding rod, by means of which the running rail or the carrying or holding rod can be clamped in a force-locking manner with respect to the holding area.
- the union bell is fixed to the hollow cylindrical extension of the running rail receptacle in such a way that the union bell is rotatably and axially immovably fixed to the running rail receptacle by means of a clamping ring encircling an outer groove of the hollow cylindrical extension of the running rail receptacle. bell engages with a flange between a shoulder on the outer wall of the hollow cylindrical extension and the clamping ring.
- this type of fastening enables the union bell to be screwed onto the external thread of the fastening element designed as a pot-like fastening bush, and on the other hand fixes the distance between the running rail receptacle and the adjustment bearing.
- the holding area of the running track receptacle can be designed differently; it can encompass the rail or the support or support bar by a little more than half the circumference or completely.
- An additional fixing of the running rail or of the supporting or holding rod with respect to the rail clamping profile can take place in that the rail clamping profile has a threaded hole for receiving a grub screw.
- running rail is to be understood as a rail or rod on which sliding elements of various types, for example rolling, can be guided.
- clamp holders can also be used for rails that only have a supporting function, for example for The clamp holders are also suitable for fastening, for example, grip elements which have been defined as holding rods.
- a second guide element is designed as a U-shaped rail, in which one end of the sliding door is guided.
- the U-shaped rail increases the friction compared to the use of the rollers.
- the rollers are preferably constructed in several parts, the running surface being made of plastic.
- the sliding door is particularly preferably designed as a sliding glass door.

- the rollers 3 are guided on the lower rod 6 in the lower region of the rod.
- the rollers 3 of the lower rod 6 can also be guided on the upper area thereof.
- FIG. 8 describes a guide device according to a fifth exemplary embodiment of the present invention. Identical or functionally identical parts are designated with the same reference symbols as in the previous exemplary embodiments.
- an angle 16 is fastened on an outer area of the furniture body 2, more precisely on the upper surface of the furniture body.
- the rod 6 is again fastened to the angle 16 via holding elements 7.
- the twisting of the angle 16 results in a wide range of design options for arranging the guide device according to the invention.
- the fifth embodiment corresponds to the previously described embodiments, so that a further description can be omitted.
- the present invention thus relates to a guide device for sliding doors of a piece of furniture, in particular for sliding glass doors with a high weight.
- the guide device comprises at least one guide element designed as a cylindrical rod 6 and at least two rollers 3 which are fastened to the sliding door 1 via fastening elements 5.
- the rod 6 is fastened to the furniture body 2 via holding elements 7.
- the rollers 3 have a tread 4 such that the tread 4 lies completely on the rod 6 at the point of contact with the rod 6.
- the roller 3 also forms the connection to the sliding door 1 via the fastening element 5. As a result, fewer individual parts are required and, at the same time, the visible area of the sliding door 1 is not impaired.
- the roller 3 is composed of two half-shells 49 and 50.
- the half-shell 50 is screwed into the half-shell 49.
- the tread 4 is embedded between their free ends.
- the tread 4 is preferably made of a rubber-like material in order to ensure that the sliding door 1 runs silently.
- a subsequently fixed part 56 is then screwed into the half-shell 50.
- In the part 56 there is a bearing 51, the outer ring of which is supported in the half-shell 49.
- the cage of the bearing 51 is mounted on the fixed part 56.
- the bearing 51 is held by a locking ring 69 on the fixed part 56.
- the fixed part 56 has a projecting area 70 which protrudes from the roller 3. Inside the fixed part 56 there is a threaded hole, not shown. In order to connect the sliding door 1 to the roller 3, the sliding door 1 is brought into contact with the glass protection 55 with the aid of a glass protection 55 which bears against the outer surface of the projecting area 70.
- the fastening element 5 is inserted within the through opening located in the sliding door 1.
- a connecting screw 52 is used for the non-positive and positive connection of the holding element 5 and thus clamping the sliding door 1 to the fixed part 56.
- a closure cap in the form of a closure element 53 is inserted into the fastening element 5. With such a construction, the roller 3 is connected directly to the sliding door 1 via the fastening element 5.
