Abstract
The system disclosed in the invention provides a new application and use of existing metropolitan suburban transportation networks that have been exclusively used until now for the transportation of passengers by using metropolitan trains for transporting goods during night hours or low density hours. The system consists of several rolling platforms or wagons, each of which has been adapted to transport several containers whose size and characteristics have been designed to meet current capillary distribution requirements, adapted to current urban morphology and are prepared for the handling of said goods in accordance with their nature. According to the invention, the containers that are transported in the convoys of goods are handled in stations attached to current passenger stations or in other newly built locations that have been appropriately equipped for vertical and horizontal handling of containers and for lifting said containers by mechanical means to the urban surface where they are distributed for the delivery or pick up of the goods contained therein.
Description
SISTEMA COMBINADO METROPOLITANO DE TRANSPORTE Y DISTRIBUCIÓN DEMETROPOLITAN COMBINED TRANSPORTATION AND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OF
The present invention as expressed in the statement of this specification refers to a system for transporting and distributing containerized goods through the suburban metropolitan network, consisting of freight wagons or loading platforms and corresponding cargo containers, which has been conceived in order to obtain numerous and notable advantages of a logistic, economic, ecological and practical type, in terms of decongestion of surface traffic in large cities, compared to other existing systems of similar purposes.
The system is based on the use at night or low-density hours of the metropolitan networks of suburban passenger transport, by means of the use of mobile platforms equipped for the containerized transport of goods driven by conventional machines. These containers, with their corresponding merchandise, can be transported from distribution centers, supply and municipal markets, logistics exchangers, recycling plants and urban waste collection, large areas, post centers, airport cargo halls, etc ... coinciding with headwaters of the metropolitan network lines, to local stations divided by districts and duly equipped for container handling and for subsequent exchange and capillary surface distribution by means of wheeled transport vehicles, self-propelled delivery vans, properly conditioned to effect, returning the container, empty where appropriate, and once the distribution or collection of the merchandise has been made to the exchanger to carry out a new transport cycle through the suburban metropolitan network.
HOJA DE SUSTITUCIÓN (REGLA 26)
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN No se conocen antecedentes de sistema de transporte y distribución de mercancías a través de redes metropolitanas de transporte suburbano.SUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION There is no known history of transport system and distribution of goods through metropolitan suburban transport networks.
Conventional pre-existing systems currently used for the transport of goods within large urban areas lack intermodality based solely on surface transport and presenting the problem of urban traffic congestion due to lack of space that allows low-distance capillary distribution systems from the location of the large distribution centers to the points of reception or collection of goods.
