FOLDING TABLE.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRITZ SCHMIDTMANN, a citizen of Germany, residing at Dusseldorf, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Folding Tables, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a folding table which may be readily unfolded, extended or collapsed, and which is so constructed that it will be securely braced when open while occupying a minimum space when folded.

In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved table, showing it unfolded, Fig. 2 a detail of part thereof, and Fig. 3 a side view partly in section showing the table collapsed.

The table top is composed of two sections (Z, 0, connected by hinges a. Each section is preferably formed of several layers of wood, which are glued together with their grain crossing each other, so as to insure strength. To the inner ends of plates d, c are hinged legs a, to the lower ends of which are in turn hinged braces 'c. I claim:

A table provided with a pair of hinged top plates having ways, a pair of leaves having inner reduced ends and slidable in said ways, legs hinged to the inner ends of the plates, an articulated strut connecting the legs, and braces hinged to the lower ends of the legs and to the inner ends of the leaves.
