Abstract
A cosmetic compact includes a cover and a base which is pivotably connected to the cover, and a two-sided mirror is pivotably connected between the cover and the base. Each of the cover and the base includes a heart-shaped recess for receiving cosmetic material therein. The cover can be engaged with the base by engaging a positioning plate on the cover with a protrusion on the base. The two-sided mirror includes two ears extending through two notches in a peripheral wall of the base so that the user may pivot the two-sided mirror by lifting the two ears.
Description
- The present invention relates to a cosmetic compact including a semi-sphere cover and base with a two-sided mirror connected therebetween.
- A conventional
cosmetic compact 50 is disclosed inFIG. 6 and generally includes a base with a cover pivotably connected to the base. A plurality of partitions are defined in the base so as to receive different colors of powders therein. Nevertheless, the partitions are located on the same plane and separated by short separation plates so that the powders are mixed with each other after being used for a period of time and look messy.FIG. 7 shows another conventionalcosmetic compact 60 wherein thebase 62 is a jar with a threadedneck 621 and the cosmetic powder is received in thebase 62. Acover 61 is threadedly mounted to the threadedneck 621 to seal thebase 62. Thebase 62 can only receive oncosmetic powder 63 and the user has to rotate thecover 61 when opening and closing the cosmetic compact. This is not convenient for the users. - The present invention intends to provide a cosmetic compact that is easy to open and includes a two-sided mirror for separating two different partitions.
- The present invention relates to a cosmetic compact that comprises a cover pivotably connected to a base and each of the cover and the base includes a recess for receiving cosmetic material therein. The cover includes a positioning plate and a protrusion extends from an outside of the peripheral wall so as to engage with the positioning plate to close the cover onto the base. A two-sided mirror pivotably connected between the
cover 10 and the base. - The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the cosmetic compact of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a side view to show the cosmetic compact of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 shows that the cosmetic compact is opened; -
FIGS. 4 and 5 show that the user may use the cosmetic material in the cover or in the base; -
FIG. 6 shows a conventional cosmetic compact, and -
FIG. 7 shows another conventional cosmetic compact. - Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the
cosmetic compact 1 of the present invention comprises acover 10 which includes a lug 140 which is pivotably connected between twolugs 22 on abase 30. Each of thecover 10 and thebase 30 includes arecessed area 11/31 and a heart-shaped recess 12/32 for receivingcosmetic material 121/321 therein. A two-sided mirror 20 includes twolugs 36 which are located in alignment with the lug 140 andlugs 22 and apin 40 extends through them so that the three items are pivotably connected with each other and the two-sided mirror 20 is located between thecover 10 and thebase 30. The two-sided mirror 20 is received in the two respectiverecessed areas cover 10 closes on thebase 30. Thecover 10 includes apositioning plate 13 extending from a periphery thereof and the base 3 includes aperipheral wall 33 which encloses therecessed area 31. Aprotrusion 331 extends from an outside of theperipheral wall 33 so as to engage with thepositioning plate 13 to position thecover 10 onto thebase 30. Aflange 34 extends from thebase 30 and is located beneath theprotrusion 331. Theperipheral wall 33 includes twonotches 35 and the two-sided mirror 20 includes twoears 21 which are sized to be engaged with thenotches 35. - When using the
cosmetic compact 1, the user puts her finger in the area between theflange 34 and thepositioning plate 13 and lifts thecover 10 as shown inFIG. 4 . Thecosmetic material 121 in thecover 10 can be accessed and themirror plate 20 can be used conveniently. The two-sided mirror 20 can be pivoted upward by lifting thelugs 21 as shown inFIG. 5 . - The
cover 10 and thebase 30 as shown are a semi-sphere which is attractive in outer appearance and the two-sided mirror 20 is so convenient for the user whichever thematerial - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
Claims (3)
1. A cosmetic compact comprising:
a cover pivotably connected to a base and each of the cover and the base including a recess for receiving cosmetic material therein, the cover including a positioning plate extending from a periphery thereof and the base including a peripheral wall which encloses the recess, a protrusion extending from an outside of the peripheral wall so as to engage with the positioning plate to position the cover onto the base, and
a two-sided mirror pivotably connected between the cover and the base.
2. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the peripheral wall includes two notches and the two-sided mirror includes two ears which are sized to be engaged with the notches.
3. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a flange extends from the base and located beneath the protrusion.
