GOLF PUTTER.

T all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LEWIS L. 'Soorr, a citizen of the United States, residingin the city of St. Louis and State of Missouri,

have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Golf Putters, of which the following is a specification.

- The object of my invention is to provide a golf putter with means for preventing the w catching of the edge of the putter on the grass or turf. The putting stroke is very delicate and the blow struck is very light. Many players will repeatedly catch the edge of the putter on the grass and spoil their strike.

The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which;

Figure 1 is a front view of the striking face of the putter head.

Figure 2 is a section taken on line 1-1 of Figure 1.

Figure 3 is a top view of the putter head. Referring now ineral 1 indicates the main body of the putter head which is usually cast of aluminum.

2, indicates the striking face. 3, is the hosel to the drawings, the nuwhich connects to a shaft or handle not shown. 4, is a sight line used in sighting the ball with the hole. The numeral, 5, indicates runners which are cast on the bottom of the putter head for the purpose of preventing the catching of the lower edge of the face of the putter on the grass or turf. It will be noted that these runners are nicely rounded so as to slide easily over the grass in case they should come in contact with said grass or turf; the front edge of the putter is also rounded to prevent catching on the grass or turf.

I claim A golf putter head provided with one or more runners projecting from the bottom of said head, said runners being below the lower edge of the striking face and being curved so as to join the lower edge of said striking face, the runners being of materially less cross sectional area than the space between said runners.
