IMPROVEMENT lN WRENCH AND BOLT-CUTTERS.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETER BROADBOOKS, of Batavia, in the county ofGenesee and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved W'rench and Boltflutter; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which The figure is a perspective view-of my improved implement, showing the manner in which it is applied.
A and B represent lever-handles pivoted at '0. On the lever A is formed a cam-shaped head, A, slightly beveled so as to form a cutting-edge on the inner side, which operates with the head B like a pair of shears. The head B on the lever B is formed with a deep notch or recess, so that it will fit on a nut, and may be used for turning the same like an ordinary wrench. This recess has an offset, shown at b, for turning smaller nuts and supporting them while the bolt is being cut off by the 'camhcad. The wrench-head is also provided with half-round notches c and d for supporting wires and small rods while being cut off.
The operation of my implement will be easily understood from the description and drawmg.
My combined wrench and bolt-cutter is very convenient for ironing buggies and the like, as the nuts may be turned up and the boltends cut off with the same implement and at the same operation.
What I claim as my invention is- The combined wrench and bolt-cutter here in described, consisting of the levers A and B, cam-head A, and wrench-head B, provided with notches and offset, substantially as specified.
