AN ABSORBENT ARTICLE (1) COMPRISES AN ABSORBER (30), WING PORTIONS (43) AND FLAP PORTIONS (60) EXTENDING OUTWARD OF THE ABSORBER, AND CONSTRICTED PORTIONS (45) FORMED BETWEEN THE WING PORTIONS AND THE FLAP PORTIONS. THE FLAP PORTIONS AND THE CONSTRICTED PORTIONS ARE FORMED WITH RECESSED PORTIONS (70) INDENTED IN A THICKNESS DIRECTION (T) OF THE FLAP PORTIONS AND EXTEND FROM THE CONSTRICTED PORTIONS TOWARD THE REAR SIDE, THE FLAP PORTIONS ARE FOLDED BACK AT THE NON?SKIN CONTACT SURFACE SIDE OF THE UNDERWEAR (S) WITH THE RECESSED PORTIONS AS BASE POINTS IN A STATE THAT THE WING PORTIONS ARE FOLDED BACK TO THE NON-SKIN CONTACT SURFACE SIDE, AND THEREBY, A SKIN CONTACT SURFACE SIDE OF THE FLAP PORTIONS IS ARRANGED SO AS TO FACE THE WEARER.
