Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a substrate for label, having extremely low curling tendency and high printability, by using a sintered material of a composition composed mainly of a thermoplastic resin as the hot-melt adhesive layer or adhesive part. CONSTITUTION:One or both surfaces of a substrate composed of a textile (preferably taffeta, satin, etc.) imparted with printability are coated with the dispersion of a crystalline thermoplastic synthetic resin (e.g. polyester, polyacrylate, etc.), and sintered e.g. by the infrared heating at 140 deg.C for 1min. The sintered layer is used as the hot-melt adhesive layer or adhesive part of the objective substrate for label.

Traditionally, lyles used for clothing, bedding, etc. were attached by sewing machines, but in recent years, lyles have been attached to 4-leaves materials by pre-adhesive processing, followed by printing, cutting, etc. Attachment can also be carried out by placing the label on the target object and applying pressure or heat compression, or by sandwiching a heat-adhesive film between the unadhesive label and the target object and heat-pressing the label. I'm starting to feel like I'm being bullied.

However, these methods still have various problems and have not completely replaced the conventional sewing method. For example, bonding using only pressure bonding is the simplest and most desirable bonding method, but current pressure-sensitive adhesive technology is limited to temporary bonding applications. In addition, adhesion to adherends by thermocompression bonding has reached an almost satisfactory state in terms of adhesive strength due to advances in heat-fusible synthetic resin technology, but molten heat-fusible synthetic resin compositions In the usual method of applying the composition directly to the substrate by extrusion coating, etc., curls occur on the coated side of the composition, which not only becomes an obstacle during printing but also poses an obstacle to handling and installation. Although the cause of the curling has not yet been clearly elucidated, the curling crystallizes as a heat-fusible synthetic resin.

The first cause is thought to be that the synthetic resin layer provided on the substrate due to coating recrystallizes and causes volumetric contraction.

Based on the above knowledge, the present inventors have conducted intensive research on label materials having a heat-fusible adhesive layer that does not curl, and as a result, a material for which the heat-fusible adhesive layer is made of a sintered body of synthetic resin has been developed for this purpose. They found that they matched, and completed the present invention.

By the way, among thermoplastic synthetic resins, crystalline polymers exhibit particularly excellent adhesive strength. However, as mentioned above, when applied to a substrate using a normal coating method, Curling occurred on the coating side, making it extremely unsuitable for use as a label. The present invention solves the problem of curling by applying it as a sintered body onto a substrate, even when using a crystalline polymer such as a diagonal coating, which is unavoidable with the normal coating method. , which can be used for purposes such as labels.

The method of applying the adhesive layer or the adhesive part to the substrate in the present invention is to directly sprinkle powder particles of a heat-fusible synthetic resin composition onto the substrate and fix the powder particles to the substrate by infrared heating or the like. A dispersion of powder particles, heat-fusible synthetic resin composition, or powder particles in water or other solvent is applied to a substrate by doctor coating or roll coating, the temporary dispersion medium is evaporated, and the powder particles are heated to coat the substrate. There is a way to fix it. Although it is sufficient for the heat-fusible synthetic resin composition to adhere to the substrate by heating as long as it does not fall off through simple friction, heating is sufficient until the powder particles of the composition are dissolved and completely fused. You can. If the powder particles are heated until they are completely dissolved, there is a possibility that curling will occur, and in that case, the substrate will be deformed, so there is no practical problem.

Although there is no particular restriction on the pattern in which the heat-fusible adhesive adheres to the substrate in the present invention, it is desirable that it be uniform from the viewpoint of printability. When adhesive is applied in dots, lines, or patterns, uneven printing occurs due to subtle waviness that occurs in the laminate and uneven printing pressure that occurs during printing.

Although the reason why the label material of the present invention does not cause curling has not been fully elucidated, the heat-fusible synthetic resin coated on the substrate and sintered by heating appears to be a powder, although it is molten on the surface. It is considered that the crystalline portions contained in the particles remain and therefore shrinkage due to recrystallization does not occur.

Example A/&-4//, 2 polyamide copolymer (melting point gθ~9θ°C1 particle size/30~300μ) was sprinkled on a laminate in which polyamide porous layers were provided on both sides of a conylon tuck fabric, and heated by infrared rays. A sintered body of copolymerized nylon was then provided on the polyamide porous laminate. What is the adhesion amount of co-weighted nylon? rOy/n was 2. The obtained label material had almost no curl, and there were no problems at all during offset printing.

Comparative Example A heat-sensitive label material was obtained by extrusion coating a 6/1-6//2 nylon copolymer composition onto an acetate satin fabric. The amount of adhesion of the nylon copolymer composition was approximately 100 ml. This label material had severe curling toward the side coated with the nylon copolymer, and offset printing did not go well.
