Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain inexpensive, highly accurate device in the tension testing device in the hermetically closed container, by conducting and heating a spring body comprising configuration memorizing alloy, and applying a load on a test piece. CONSTITUTION:The memorizing process is performed under the state the spring body 12 comprising the configuration memorizing alloy is compressed. The spring body 12 is elongated at a low temperature and placed between chuck 6b vertical part and 4b under this shape. Under this state, a current is supplied to the spring body 12 from a DC or AC power source 13 through power supply cords 14a and 14b. Then the spring body 12 is heated by the own resistance of the spring body 12 and tends to contract and return to the original state. Therefore the tensile load is imparted to the test piece through the chuck 6b. Said tensile load is detected by a load cell 5 through the chuck 6a and monitored by a load measuring device 11. Therefore, an arbitrary load can be imparted to the test piece 7 by adjusting the amount of power supply from the power source 13 based on said monitoring.
