Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of the magnetic field component which crosses perpendicularly to the course of side beam by making the distribution of magnetic field in the course of electron beam asymmetrical on the fluorescent surface side and the cathode side. CONSTITUTION:On the fluorescent surface side of an annular permanent magnet 4, a yoke 20 having a large outer diameter and asymmetrical shape to the cathode side is arranged. Due to the existence of this yoke 20, the distribution of magnetic field at the electron beam passage is made asymmetric on the fluorescent surface side and the cathode side, and the displacement of the side beam in Y direction at the inlet of deflecting magnetic field is made zero or nearly zero. Therefore, the aberration between three electron beams is nearly eliminated even in the case of horizontal deflection.
