Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible to indicate a residual amount of a battery with a percent rate by calculating a residual life of the battery with a final value of a charging terminal voltage and a temperature of electrolytic solution at a time of charging under a constant current and releasing a pulse every given consumed power at the time of discharge.
CONSTITUTION: A battery 3 is charged at a constant current value setting a change- over switch S at a charging side. After confirming the end of the charging by detecting the charging terminal voltage at a detecting circuit 4 of the terminal voltage, the terminal voltage and the temperature of the electrolytic solution are allowed to input to an arithmetic circuit 5. The output thereof is allowed to input to a counter 6 through a A-D converter 5-1, thereby indicating the residual life of the battery 3 with an indicating device 10. When a current is applied to a DC-motor 7 changing the change-over switch S to a discharge side, a pulse generates every given consumed power from the current detecting circuit 8 and the charging circuit 9 and decreases a counter 6, whereby the residual amount is shown by the indicating device 10.
