Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacture of a plate, and realize easy adjustment of the pitch of core metals by cutting a lead alloy bar into a comb-like memeber, which consists of a horizontal bar and vertical bars, bending the horizontal bar in such a manner that the vertical bars are arrragned at given pitch, and using the vertical bars as the former core metals. CONSTITUTION:A comb-like member 4. which consists of a horizontal bar 2 and a plural number of vertical bars 3 that extend from the bar 2 at pitch P1, is formed by subjecting a lead alloy bar to punching or the like. The bar 2 is bent by 180 deg. while arbitrarily adjusting the arranging pitch of the bars 3 in such a manner that the bars 3 are shifted from each other. The bent horizontal bar 2 is provided with curved parts 5. At the same time, the crossing parts of the bar 2 and the bars 3 are subjected to spot welding or the like to make them to be unified. Each bar 3 used as a core metal 7 is equipped with a hollow cylindrical glass fiber 8, inside which an active material is packed, thereby a plate being assembled. Consequently, the plate can be easily manufacutred, and the quality of the plate can be equalized through simple adjustment of the pitch of the core metals 7.
